How we define an SUV: a vehicle that is station wagon-like in appearance and a similar seating arrangement but with increased ground clearance and sometimes four-wheel drive. Recently, the line between wagons and SUVs has been blurred by “crossovers” – SUVs that are built on a unibody car chassis instead of the more traditional SUV body-on-frame. This segment also includes off-road, often open-top Jeep-like vehicles.
